Diet Update & Presents for myself

As promised, I am here to give you news of my first week's weight loss on the Cambridge Weight Plan. I feel absolutely brilliant, full of energy and I'm not missing food half as much as I thought I would!

So, the all important weight in was today and I was so pleased to discover that I have lost 8lbs in my first week. I know alot of this is water weight loss, however it has given me a burst of motivation and positivity for the coming weeks! Yay!

So, near my Cambridge Councellor there happens to be a TK Maxx veeery close by. I thought it would be rude not to pop in after such success! I bought the following items:

Rockaholic Dry Conditioner: £5

Meerkat Make Up Bag: £4.99

W7 Nail Varnish in Silver & Crackle Black

That's all from me today!

OOTW: OUTFIT OF THE WEEKEND

So, every Sunday, I thought I might make it a regular feature to show you my favourite outfit of the weekend. On Friday night, I wore this awesome Hell Bunny dress. I got this off eBay for a measley £6 plus postage... bargain! I absolutely love the cute unicorn detail on it! The cardigan is a plain one from New Look and the wedges are from Primark (seriously want the nude versions of them too!).

Hope you like!

GLOSSYBOX FEBRUARY 2012

So this month, I am going to write a review of GlossyBox February 2012. Oh wait. No, I'm not. Why? Because I didn't get one. We are all aware of the payment issues around this months box, however I feel really... let down, at the way in which GlossyBox handled the situation.

I have been receiving GlossyBoxes since they first launched last year and have overall been happy with their contents - I absolutely loved not knowing what we were going to get until the day the postman knocks on the door with the pretty pink box. I used 3 out of the 5 products from every box, found products that I would never have found otherwise (HELLO HD BROWS!) and added some great products to my skincare collection.

Everything was great until this month. I received an email from GlossyBox on the 10th February saying they couldn't take my payment and that they would try to take it again on the 13th and if unsuccessful, the 14th. It's at this time I notice a lot of buzz on Twitter about payments not being taken and a problem in the system. Fair enough, I thought! Nice if they would tell me directly via email what was going on but hey ho, it would surely be sorted and I would receive my box along with everyone else!

After this, I heard NOTHING from GlossyBox until yesterday, when they sent me an email, saying they would be cancelling my subscription and if I still wanted the box, I could always resubscribe. Errr what?! 2 weeks with no word regarding the payment and then a quick email to say you're cancelling my subscription?! I also wasn't impressed that this is after everyone else whoses payments did go through, got their boxes and were proudly displaying them in blogland for all to see!

I am so disappointed in the way in which this was handled! Fair enough if they had kept me informed every couple of days of the situation but they didn't. Had I not have checked their Twitter and Facebook, I wouldn't have known what the hell was going on!

It makes me sad that this has happened, and out of principle for the way in which the error has been handled, I won't be re-subscribing to GlossyBox. I do still love the concept and obviously a lot of people are happy with GlossyBox (those who haven't had payment and communication issues haha!)Perhaps if they were to improve their customer relations I might reconsider in the future but for now, I think I will be spending my £12 something elsewhere.

Sorry for the moan!

CAMBRIDGE DIET

Today I am going to share something with you which is pretty personal to me but I want to share it with you guys as further motivation. I have around 4 stone to lose. I am 5ft3 and a size 12/14 and my BMI is getting dangerously high - if things were to continue the way they were, I would be considered obese in the next few years.

After many diets, fad diets and going to the gym, I wasn't seeing the results I wanted so I decided to look into alternatives. I came across the Cambridge diet.

The Cambridge diet works by putting you on a controlled calorie controlled soup and shake diet. I will be having 3/4 shakes/soups per day and a weekly meeting with my lovely Cambridge councellor. I will also be continuing to go to the gym 3-4 times per week.

I have heard many stories of the Cambridge diet changing people's lives and as long as you continue on a healthy diet and exercise regime after, the weight will stay off.

I have a long way to go, it's my first day today and I feel great. The shakes and soups taste lovely (So far tried Banana, Leek and Potato and Chocolate) so I feel positive and I look forward to feeling confident about myself for the first time in years!

I will continue to update you on a weekly basis - on a Monday as this is when my session is with my councellor.

Thank you for reading and I look forward to posting the after photo in a few months time ;) xxx

Dress: Oasis | Blazer: River Island | Belt: Primark

Oh lord, so here it is. The nerve wracking first ever OOTD. I am off to a lovely Caribbean themed travel event this evening so thought I would show you what I am wearing. I love this blazer as it goes with absolutely everything and I love the stud detailing on the lapels. I got the dress in the Christmas Oasis sale for £25 - its a beautiful colour and I think I am going to get a lot of use out of it!

Hope you like this post, and as always I would really welcome some feedback and tips on taking OOTD's!

HAIR EXTENSIONS

I have had hair extensions since around September last year. They are easy to look after, make my hair longer (obviously) and I get them at an amazing price. Win, Win, Win. My natural hair is just about shoulder length and in pretty bad condition - the hair extensions seem to hide both of these things! The light in the picture doesn't show the true colour of my hair which is a medium red colour. On a side note, this is the first time I have used a tripod for my camera - can anyone give me any tips on taking nice pictures of myself?!

I get my hair extensions put in by a lovely girl, Vicky. She is the owner of Hair Extensions by V and absolutely lovely to deal with. She will work with you to find the right shades and colours to match your hair and give you great aftercare advice to keep the extensions looking tip top. I get the pre-bonded extensions and these last me 2-3 months. You can view her Facebook page to keep to date with the latest offers and competitions.
