OOTD: Fate fell short this time

Jumper/Dress: Mango/Asos | Leggings: Miss Selfridge | Converse: Office

I apologise for how tired I look in these pictures - I am so tired! I have really bad insomnia so spend most of the night awake then up at the normal time in the morning - if anyone has any miracle cures, I would love to hear them!

I got this jumper/dress this week from the Asos sale for a measly £6.50. What a bargain! This is my casual look with it, but I think you could stick on some heels and necklace and take this to a nightime look. The camera doesn't really pick up on how bright the pink/orange is - it's pretty fluorescent! I live in Converse and have a few pairs - these are the newest addition to my Converse family and I've worn them pretty much every day since I got them! I love the fact the Converse Lite range really work well with dresses and pretty much every outfit I own!

I thought I would mention the make up I'm wearing as well. The mascara is the new No7 Fanomenal Lashes which I got with a £5 off voucher - I'm really pleased with it! Foundation is Rimmel Wake Me Up and I have the L'Oreal Caresse lipstick on in Dating Coral.

I'm now going to do a bit of work and then hopefully make the most of the nice weather we appear to be having today!

Review: Neutrogena Intense Repair Lip Balm

Happy Friday everyone! As you can see Shelley Hearts has had a bit of a revamp. I took an evening one day this week to just plough on through with it and I'm really happy with it! I do have to say a huge thank you to Faye at Girl Does Geek as she really helped me with some of the coding and also to Leanne for her help and advice too! I hope you all like it! It's been a really good week for my blog and I'm really pleased to see lots of new readers *waves hello* - welcome and thank you!

So today I am reviewing the Neutrogena Intense Repair Lip Balm. I have really dry lips and since getting my lip pierced back in February, they've been a whole lot worse so I've been trying to find something to help them. I use the Lush sugar scrubs daily (Would you like a review on these?) but needed something to moisturise them after and actually repair them. While browsing in Boots I thought this looked like it could do the job. It really stood out from the rest as an intensive treatment.

I'm not too keen on the applicator - as you can see from the picture its a rounded top and the product can come out a little too quickly meaning you can easily have too much and then you end up wasting some of it - I think I prefer the Vaseline tins as you can easily get the amount you need.

The product itself is ok. But just ok. It left my lips feeling a little greasy and I couldn't really tell much difference after a couple of weeks using it, my lips were a little softer but not so much that I would buy this product again. The packaging claims it 'immediately hydrates even chapped lips, and intensively soothes and relives them'. Maybe if I had really chapped lips this might help, but I think my search will continue to try and find one that makes more of a difference!

Have you found something that combats dry lips that you can recommend? I've tried the Vaseline tins and also the Cocoa Butter and while they both helped the immediate problem, they haven't helped repair them!

Let me just start by saying that if you go onto the Everything5Pounds.com website, you will need 2 things. Time and patience. You have to have a good rummage around the website to find the good stuff, and I mean a GOOD rummage. (Tip: For a laugh, visit the lingerie page...). There is a lot of stuff I wouldn't touch with a barge pole but there are also some absolute bargains to be had!

I have bought several items from this website and I have never been disappointed with what I have got - it's always been great quality, and often looks better than it does in the pictures on the website! Delivery takes 3-4 days and is calculated by weight. You can pay for special delivery if you want something urgently. Above are the items I have bought from the website this week - you wouldn't believe they were only a fiver each right!?

Each day the Everything 5 Pounds Facebook page updates with 'New Arrivals' so its worth keeping an eye on this so you know to buy it the next day as things sell out quickly!

Have you bought anything from Everything 5 Pounds?

My favourite... Jewellery

So I thought I would make a series of posts showing you a few of my favourite things. This week it's jewellery! Some of it I have bought myself and some have been given to me as gifts.

Photobucket

These two necklace charms are really special to me. My parents gave me the 21st key for my birthday (oddly enough, it was my 21st birthday!) and they managed to find one with garnet, my birthstone in it. It love it and although I obviously cannot wear it every day, it hangs on my jewellery tree! Also on this chain is a heart charm that my Dad gave to my Mum years ago! She cannot wear jewellery any more so gave me this - it's something I will keep forever and hopefully pass down to my daughters and so on!

Photobucket

This ring is only a cheapie from Primark, but I absolutely love it! I have painted the inside and ring part with clear nail varnish so it doesn't turn my finger green so hopefully I will be able to continue wearing it in years to come! I think I might be being a bit too hopeful there haha!

Photobucket

This gorgeous pink Swarovski necklace was given to me by my boyfriend. He is great at choosing jewellery so usually chooses to buy me it for birthdays and Christmas as he knows I will always love what he picks!

Photobucket

A recent purchase from Topshop, as soon as I saw this necklace it had to be mine! I love anything with crosses and skulls on it so this ticked a lot of boxes for me! It's a great statement necklace.

Photobucket Photobucket

Another great choice by my boyfriend, but I was with him this time! We had a great day out in London and headed to the Covent Garden market when he spotted this on one of the stalls and decided he had to buy it for me! Only problem with this is, it is SO delicate, I'm always scared to wear it!

Photobucket

Lastly, we have my Pandora bracelet. I love the concept of Pandora bracelets as I think its great you can add to them and each charm can be meaningful. I got the bracelet and bigger pink charm from my boyfriend last Christmas, and my two best friends bought me the sparkly star charm, which I love and sums me up perfectly!

So there we have it! Let me know if you enjoy posts like this - I really value all comments and feedback :)

Sunday Summary

First of all, I want to say a big hello to my new followers! I seem to have quite a few new readers this month and you honestly don't know how much it means to be that you want to actually read my rambling! Also thank you so much for all the comments that you have left for me, I absolutely love reading them and they make me very happy!

I've had a pretty good week, with a healthy mix of working, socialising and chilling out! I hit Primark with my friend on Tuesday which resulted in a LOT of new jewellery, sunglasses and a few other 'essentials' for festival season. We have started buying for Reading Festival now to try and spread out the cost a bit! We spent an unnecessary fortune last year! Still have yet to find the perfect festival shorts, but I'm hoping to lose a little more weight before then!

You may or may not know that I have a rabbit called Mark Hoppus (he is on the right of the picture above!) and this week I was excited to finally find his new little wifelet, Josie! (Fans of Blink 182 will understand...) So far they have met once but we cannot leave them together at the moment as Mark Hoppus has not had his 'operation' yet - they appear to like each other with some grooming going on! We are always on hand to make sure this lovin' doesn't get out of hand! She is gorgeous and so lovely and soft and a really friendly little bunny!

Hope you have all had lovely weekends and have a great week!

MUA Heaven & Earth Palette

Top row from left to right.

Bottom row from left to right.

I'm all about neutral eye make up but didn't have a palette - and I certainly was not going to spend £35 on one of the Naked palettes. I've read mixed reviews on that one and all the reviews I saw on the MUA Heaven and Earth palette were all glowing.

A bargain at £4, I have used this every single day since I bought it. The pigmentation of the eyeshadows are fantastic and they all have a very slight shimmer to them, which I love. I am finding myself using the same 2 or 3 shadows all the time though, so I need to remember to use the others in the palette as they are all such lovely colours!

I'm really enjoying MUA products at the moment. I also have a couple of their Love Hearts lip tins, and their blushers are fab as well. I'm going to head to my local Superdrug at the weekend at pick up a few more items!

OOTD: Everything is alright...

Shelley Hearts Shelley Hearts Shelley Hearts Shelley Hearts Shelley Hearts Shelley Hearts

Top, skirt and sunglasses from Primark, Belt from New Look

Today, I have stepped out of my comfort zone. I have red lipstick on AND a maxi skirt (which, by the way, was a bargain at just £10). I still can't decide if the skirt makes me look really wide or if it's actually flattering, but it's great in this weather! I'm finding it difficult to dress for my new shape and finding out what works on me - I'm quite short so have to be careful with certain styles and shapes of clothing.

The lipstick is one of Boots No 7 Stay Perfect Lipstick in 'Cherry' which I got for £5 after using a £5 off voucher.

Song lyrics are Motion City Soundtrack - Everything is Alright'.

Bargain Beauty: Pixi Nail Varnish

Photobucket

Now, I don't know about you, but I love a bargain. If I can get something cheaper than what it is instore/on the website, then I'm a happy bunny. One place I love visiting for such bargains is TK Maxx. Our local TK Maxx has a range of products including bags, clothing, footwear, home, beauty and garden and I buy from all the departments.

While browsing in my local TK Maxx the other day I came across some Pixi make up. I love the Pixi brand and one of my all time favourite nail varnishes is a Pixi polish. Usually Pixi nail varnishes retail at £8 per polish, so IMAGINE my delight when I saw a pack of 2 for just £3! I got No. 1 Clear and No. 11 which is a pretty Barbie-pink.

Have you found any beauty bargains in your local TK Maxx?

Soap & Glory Clear Here Moisturiser

Today I bring to you one of my new must have products. I love this product so much that it's something I am going to repurchase again and again. I've never really been into skincare much - I take my make up off with face wipes and put a tiny bit of moisturiser on my nose. Until I found the Soap & Glory Clear Here T-Zone Oil-Control Daily Facial Moisture Lotion.

This product is designed to perfect your skin by shrinking your pores, smoothing and mattifying. I would guess that it's Soap & Glory's answer to the popular Benefit Porefessional?

I have quite blotchy, combination skin with dry areas, oily areas and normal areas with the occasional spot and felt I needed something to try and even all that out. This wonder product does the job beautifully. Each morning and night after using a face wipe, I apply this by smoothing it into my skin on my face and neck - it sinks in quite quickly and you can feel an immediate difference. I wait a minute or so before applying make up and it goes on top of the moisturiser really well and evenly. I use the Soap & Glory Clear Here as a primer as it does that job well too!

The moisture lotion has one of the recognisable Soap & Glory scents to it which I really like - its quite fresh and not too overpowering.

As you can see by my raving, I am really pleased I chose this product out of the millions on offer as its done just what I was looking for a product to do.

I got this from Boots and it's quite well priced at £9 for 50ml. Boots also have a special offer on at the moment with 3 for 2 on Soap & Glory facial skincare - I recommend you get the Face Soap & Clarity Foaming Face Wash and the Purifying Cleansing Cloths!

Beating heart baby...

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Top - H&M | Skirt - Primark

Can we just assess the fact that I am nearly the same colour of my wall!? I am beige! Waa! Errr... fake tan review coming soon?! I love this skirt - I have had it a while but it didn't fit but now it does I have been wearing it quite a bit. The heart print is really lovely and injects some colour into my very black wardrobe. I just wear with a basic black top and black tights and I think it can work well for nights out, daytime or work. (Not for me though, I work from home so mainly wear my PJ's...)

NOTD: Ghost on the dancefloor...

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Today I am going to see my all time favourite band, Blink 182, so decided to do Blink 182 inspired nails. I realise this makes me a massive geek, but I love them so...!

I used Natural Collection Sugar Mouse, Maybelline Express Finish in Turquoise Green and Barry M in Shocking Pink and the clear base coat. For the feature nail, I used the Soap and Glory Supercat Eyeliner felt tip.

I'm back!

New Home New Home Hello!

You will be very glad to know, I am back! After a crazy busy week, I have finally found time to sit down and write a lovely blog post for you all, a little update with a couple of snapshots of the new pad.

Moving day itself was pretty much stress free - just hard hard work! The loading and unloading of the van took its toll and my feet are only just getting back to normal! Since then it's been a flurry of building furniture, constructing Mark Hoppus' new mansion, sorry, hutch (seriously, it's ridiculously big for him!) and unpacking. I haven't yet got round to my dressing table - its a lovely big one with 4 drawers either side, so plenty of room for my make up. I'm going to strip it back and paint it white to match the rest of my room - once this weather gets better! Need to find a good place in the flat to take photos too as there isn't an awful lot of natural light - except in the kitchen, but OOTD in the kitchen might be a bit far...!

In other news, the diet is still going well. I had about 2 weeks on and off due to various occasions - I had Slam Dunk festival then obviously moving day and the Jubilee weekend. I am on about 2 and a half stone loss, which I am thrilled with! Speaking of Jubilee weekend, did you all have a good one? I had a super one, spent lots of time with my boyfriend and friends, and my parents popped over to see the flat!

Blog-wise, I want to give my blog a fresh new look - but I don't have tons of time to tinker - any suggestions?! I need a template that I can fully customise rather than building from scratch which I can do, but I would rather spend the time writing blog posts for you all to read! I'm hoping to get lots of inspiration from the TOWIB event I am going to next week, myself and Leanne are going to have a girly sleepover the night before which will be lovely!

Anyway, enough of me rambling on - I look forward to getting back into blogging - I have missed it!

Thank you for reading! xo
